You have the poise, the fashions and now the chance to have a regal, limited edition royal purple or a berry Purse Perfector. This rich-looking purple is fit for, well, a princess. Have you ever wondered why all the fuss about purple being the color of royalty?
A lot of it has to do with Queen Elizabeth I. Purple dye was rare and expensive those days. Wearing purple was a clever way to distinguish the monarchy from the Elizabethan subjects. The queen forbad everyone except close members of the royal family to have or wear purple attire and accessories.
Flash forward. We are free to indulge in as much purple as we want! You don’t have to wear a hat, drink high tea or be a resident of Buckingham Palace to enjoy your purple. Purse Perfector has you covered. Could a purple Perfector be in the cards for the ever-organized Kate Middleton? Or Queen Elizabeth?
Feel royal now by getting your limited edition Purse Perfector. But hurry before supplies run out. Here’s a quick link for ordering.
I had an interesting conversation last week with a few friends about the many ways they use their large Purse Perfector purse organizers. Of course, they use them in most of their purses, but they had other great ideas I want to share. One lady didn’t realize she could unzip her Purse Perfector to use only one half of the purse organizer in a small bag until I showed her my compact purse.
Another shared that her mother used her Purse Perfector in the front of her walker in her retirement community and apartment. She then moves her purse organizer into a nylon bag when she goes out and that her items are always in the same place and easy to find.
Kathy, my very talented sewing buddy, has two Purse Perfectors. She uses her large Purse Perfector to hold sewing supplies when she meets with friends to quilt or simply to move to another part of the house to do a little hand sewing. Don’t you love the tote she made for her Purse Perfector?
My friend Alicia was delighted to find that the center pocket of her Large Navy with Silver purse organizer neatly holds a couple of diapers! She uses another pocket for a few items for her son and still has room for her wallet, phone and lipstick and more.
Bobbi, the biking guru (she biked across America when she retired as an English teacher) had a few more thoughts. She stashes her wallet, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, snacks, lip gloss and other items in half of her Black with Berry purse organizer and places that in the small pouch strapped to her bike.
Whether hiking in city or in the mountains, you can easily manage camera gear, lip balm, sunglasses, note pads and whatever your daily needs might be. Professional organizer Janine feels she can outwit any pickpocket by cleverly tucking her Perfector in her backpack while commuting through New York City by subway, bus or trekking.
Many women have told me that they have a a solution for a long day either has taxi service for the family or on a driving trip. They take their purse organizer out of their purse and place it in the console of their car. Because of the tailored pockets and flat bottom of their Purse Perfector, they can easily switch it from the console back into their bag when they get out of the car. And they don’t forget their phone in the car after they pop the Perfector back in their bag!
I use a large Purse Perfector in my desk drawer for organizing glasses, i-cords, paper pads, Post-its, checkbooks, and additional office supplies.
And tucked into a lingerie drawer, I have a Black with Berry purse organizer to keep additional cosmetic bags, lingerie tape, i-cords (they’re everywhere, aren’t they?), glasses, shoe pads and other miscellaneous items to help me get dressed with flash and dash.

Whether your travels this summer include on a road trip, a nice long stay in the mountains, on the beach or long distance flights in exotic locales, a purse organizer can be a woman’s best everyday tool.
Did you know that the average woman carries a purse that weighs between 4 and 14 pounds?
So, unless carrying a heavy purse is part of your workout regime, here are some of our best tips on how keep organized with a Purse Perfector purse organizer.
1) It’s okay to leave things behind.
A purse organizer can’t be too big or we’re tempted to take everything and it can’t be too small or something is left behind. With a Purse Perfector, you can decide which size to get based on whether you carry a long checkbook wallet (the Large was designed to hold that style wallet between the two sections) or a smaller wallet, which fits in the tall section of the Medium size.
2) Organize for Travel
Before traveling, empty your purse organizer and include only what you need: no local loyalty cards or discount coupons, dark lipsticks, work ID, parking pass or extra keys.
3) ONLY use your Purse Perfector Organizer
If you have a purse with organization pockets, ignore those pockets and put all your essentials in the purse organizer so nothing is left behind when you change bags.
4) Be sure to “zone” your items
Your wallet or your phone goes in the same pocket each time, all lip products or cosmetics in the same place, sunglasses and reading glasses each have a pocket, etc. With zoned purse organization, you have predictable order every time, in every bag.
5) Organize for Airline Security
Removing liquids for clearing airline security is easy when you always know where to look for your hand sanitizer, hand cream and other liquids.
6) Utilize the Different Sections
Don’t lose your purse organization just because you need a smaller purse – unzip your Purse Perfector entirely and use just the front section with your cosmetics, medications and a small wallet and slip into a small clutch or the front pocket of your travel tote.
7) Use soap and water for cleanup
A purse organizer should be able to handle small spills and either be spot cleaned with soap and water or use a stain remover pen. It’s better to have that lipstick smear or pen stain in your purse organizer that in your expensive handbag.
8) Keep your IDs and documents organized
Use one of the front flat pockets or the back pocket for your picture ID when going through airline security, replacing in your wallet after clearing security.
9) Use the back pocket for your hotel key card
With your phone in the shorter section, your phone won’t demagnetize your hotel key card and you can slip your key card out effortlessly to get into your room.
10 ) Use the Purse Perfector Purse Organizer in other areas
Because of the flat base of the Purse Perfector, many women report placing their Purse Perfector in the console area for easy access and pop it back into their purse at their destination.
Summer is here and is in full swing! You’ll, no doubt, be going to numerous parties, cookouts, and family outings throughout the summer. We’ve put a list of 10 Summer Favorites that Should Be in EVERY Purse Perfector Purse Organizer to ensure a safe and healthy summer.
1) Hand Sanitizer
Hand sanitizer has numerous usages, but we’re specifically thinking about using it at a cookout or gathering where food is involved. You may not have direct access to soap and water, so having hand sanitizer on hand in your purse organizer is a smart move!
It’s hot outside and it’s only going to get hotter! Having some disposable blotting towels on hand will help remove shine from perspiration, dirt, and oil from the skin while unclogging pores for a clearer complexion.
With summer comes high pollen count and for most of us, endless sneezing, runny noses, and itchy eyes. We recommend keeping a small bottle of Zyrtec in your purse organizer to fight the daily battle of allergies.
EpiPens aren’t just for bee stings. They can be used in a number of situations where emergency treatment of allergic reactions is needed including insect stings (i.e. bees, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets and fire ants) and biting insects (i.e. triatoma, mosquitoes), allergen immunotherapy, foods, drugs, diagnostic testing substances (i.e., radiocontrast media) and other allergens, as well as idiopathic anaphylaxis or exercise-induced anaphylaxis.
What We Recommend: Getting a prescription from your doctor is your first step, then we recommend registering your auto-injectors online to receive a complimentary carrying case for easy travel.
Price: Varies by insurance providers
7) Health Insurance Cards
It’s always a good idea to carry your family’s health insurance cards in case of emergencies.
What We Recommend: Cards are easy to keep with you and can be stored in the front pocket of your Purse Perfector purse organizer for easy access.
Even being out in the sun for an hour without proper protection can give you a minor sunburn. Keeping a bottle of SPF Sunscreen with you will ensure proper protection from the sun’s harmful rays.
I recently returned from a two-week trip to Scotland and London. Our transportation included planes, trains, driving on the “wrong” side of the road, the London Underground subway and lots of rainy walks. Packing challenges included hiking shoes for walking in the Highlands to a black tie dinner at the former home of the Selfridges department store founder and a sunny day at Runnymede with the Queen, Prince William and the Princess Royal to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta, the basis of the US Constitution, the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and over a third of the world’s legal systems.
This is the first in a series of how I use Purse Perfector during a trip that requires different purse organization on a daily basis. I’ll share travel tips and when I unzip or separate my purse organizer to get maximum use in any bag and never forget what I need in my day.
The preparation phase for purse organization for any trip starts with my Purse Perfector on the counter.
The tailored base of the purse organizer is sturdy and stable and allows me to evaluate what doesn’t need to take the trip with me. I take the smallest wallet I can, leaving all the specialty credit and loyalty cards at home. I usually a taxi wallet that can also fit in my pants pocket, an RFID credit card sleeve for only 2-3 credit cards (that don’t charge foreign exchange fees), a small coin purse, my passport and several photocopies of it. I place one copy in each suitcase, one in the front pocket of my purse organizer along with a copy of each family members passport.
Prepare for Take-Off
On the day of travel, I set up my travel purse organizer: take out all liquids for the plastic quart bag (not necessary if you have TSA Pre-Check): spot cleaning pen, hand sanitizer, most lip products, hand cream, etc. Now decide what needs to be added for the trip – folding travel toothbrush, chewing gum to alleviate ear pain, a small medication kit, earplugs and eye mask.
Because of the length and range of clothing needed for this trip, I had a checked suitcase with layers of causal clothes for the colder temperatures of Scotland and business, cocktail and more formal attire for the warmer, dressier part of our trip in London. Oh – and a variety of purse and bags!
I also use a small rolling carryon suitcase that contains my small mirrorless camera with additional lenses and filters, jewelry case, makeup, magnifying mirror, change of clothes (in the event my suitcase goes somewhere else), a few snacks, rain jacket and hat, comfy walking shoes and socks, and a lightweight nylon purse on top and ready to use with my purse organizer after we clear customs. Depending on the trip, I also have a hat for my husband and a small backpack.
My second carryon is a travel tote that includes my Purse Perfector which holds my Kindle, passport, glasses and sunglasses, pens, small notebook, iPhone, my wallets; the plastic bag with liquids; my overnight bag essentials: eye mask, noise canceling earplugs and/or headset, travel socks, magazines and other reading, paperwork in a plastic sleeve, iPad, knitting, pashmina to wrap around my shoulders.
In my experience, most European flights leave in the afternoon and arrive early in the morning, but our hotel room is usually not yet available. So I wear a couple of layers on top over pants and a pair of short boots. My Purse Perfector in the travel tote holds everything I need for overnight and I’m ready to place my liquids and creams back into my Purse Perfector and pop it into the nylon purse that was in my carryon. Depending on how much we want to do before we get back to the hotel, I change shoes, grab my camera and add it to my travel purse organizer. Another benefit of small wallets – my Sony NEX-6 camera fits in the large open pocket in the tall section that usually holds my wallet. Just to be sure I never miss a shot, I always add an extra memory card to one of the short flat pockets in the front of the purse organizer.
We arrived in Edinburg and picked up our rental car and headed north towards the lovely town of Fort Augustus beside Loch Ness. Within a few moments, I had transferred what I needed into my purse organizer, placed it in my purse, added my camera and was ready to go. We had a pleasant surprise when we took and exit that led us right into Birnam, the inspiration for many of the tales of Beatrix Potter. We enjoyed a lovely lunch at a small museum dedicated to her works.
On the Road Again
Back on the road, we exited the highway for the first of many alternating one and two lane roads winding through increasingly gorgeous countryside. There were so many shades of green and the bright yellow of mustard fields and Scotch Broom bushes and many black-faced sheep and frolicking lambs. It was so nice to have a second view of spring since ours had been winding down at home.
After checking into our hotel and getting our bearings, we walked to restaurant overlooking Loch Ness for dinner and had our first taste of fresh Scottish salmon – and haggis! Haggis, despite the bad reports we had always heard is very similar to scrapple or Goetta and was tasty. It was often on the menu for both breakfast and lunch.
It was almost 11 pm when the sunset and sunrise was about 4:30 am. We learned that some nights it barely gets dark at all.
It was a sunny start to our morning and we wandered the town, checked out the locks of the canal before taking the boat tour of Loch Ness. We did not see Nessie, but did spot the very shy white goats that live on the high cliffs surrounding Loch Ness.
Our day brought us upon lambs scampering around a tree, bluebells, great vistas and a deer-stalker feeding deer he will never stalk. In fact, the deer wait for him to return to his home for food.

Let’s face it, ladies – it’s difficult to distinguish what is a “necessity” and a “want to have on hand” when it comes to purse organization.
“What should stay in and what should stay out of your purse? THAT is the question”
No, it’s not a line from Shakespeare, but it is a question that needs answered! So, let’s get to answering it!
What Goes In Your Purse
Obviously, the most important to have in your bag is lipstick – just kidding. The most important item in your purse is your wallet and/or change purse and all the contents that go in it; cash, credit and identification cards, and store loyalty cards.
We recommend having a small to medium wallet (keep small loyalty cards on a key chain or use the free app KeyRing to scan the codes to your cell phone) that is easily transferable, doesn’t take up much space, and still has plenty of room for everything you need to keep in it.
The second most used item in your handbag is usually your cosmetics, which many women choose to carry in cosmetic pouch for touch-ups on the go.
Once again, we recommend getting a cosmetic pouch that is small, but carries your most important items. And speaking of “most important,” we recommend only packing what you will absolutely need when touching up.
Keep it simple and stick with your most-used items: a travel-sized perfume, a mirror or compact, ONE lipstick or gloss (a double-sider works great), perhaps blush and an eye and/or lip pencil.
You’ll also want to find a place for your cell phone, sunglasses, and/or reading or prescription lenses. It’s also a good idea to carry items such as medications, tissues, antibacterial lotion or wipes and bandages, just in case.
Keep your miscellaneous supplies to a minimum: One pair of sunglasses with a small case, a small pad of paper and a pen, and a travel-sized medical kit.
What Should Stay Out of Your Purse
Full-size cosmetic bottles or tubes
Empty food packages and wrappers
The binky your 5-year old used years ago
Large hair brushes
