Our Visit to OpenSky

Our Facebook friends might remember seeing our “Where in the world is Lyn with her Purse Perfector?” photo last month. We had some great guesses, but the winners were the ones who figured out the inventor of Purse Perfector was in New York City at the Met. Well, while in NYC, Lyn did more than just check out the fabulous art the city has to offer. She also stopped in to meet with the folks at OpenSky.

Just in case you’ve never heard of OpenSky, here’s a brief introduction from them about what they do and offer:

Our premise is simple: Because we’re each unique and individual, uniformed stores can’t meet our needs. They don’t inspire and surprise us the way we should be. Shopping should be about discovery. Don’t compromise and settle for the status quo.

On OpenSky, you create your own experience. You decide, based on your personal interests and passions, which people to connect with—we like to call them “curators.” They’re a growing group of tastemakers and experts who are deeply passionate about what they do and what they love. You’ll discover what they discover: the most amazing products and brands you’ve never heard of and the stories (and the brilliant designers and artisans) behind them. You’ll be surprised, delighted, engaged.

OpenSky loves the Purse Perfector and it is considered one of their top sellers (yippee!). Purse Perfector is promoted on OpenSky by both Laura Whittman, the OrgJunkie and Julie Morgenstern.  There may soon be another curator at OpenSky to promote Purse Perfector… stay tuned for more!

Welcome, New York Times Readers

What a way to start the new year! The New York Times featured Purse Perfector in today’s Fashion & Style section as a handy way to manage makeup in your purse.

In the article, professional organizing guru Julie Morgenstern specifically recommends our own made-in-the-USA purse organizer as a solution to keep makeup and other handbag items in check:

“[Morgenstern] also likes the Purse Perfector, a two-part zippered pouch that divides in half. Office essentials (pens, reading glasses) can be placed on one side and makeup on the other. ‘When you go out at night, you can unzip and take your makeup with you,’ she said.”

Whether you’re hearing about us for the first time through the New York Times, or you already know and love Purse Perfector, you can take advantage of today’s special welcome offer: a 15% discount on your purchase. Simply enter NYT15OFF at checkout.

It’s that simple. You’ll be on your way to more organized 2012!

P.S. Julie also sells the Purse Perfector and other organizing must-haves in her OpenSky store — often with major discounts. Check it out.
