Our Facebook friends might remember seeing our “Where in the world is Lyn with her Purse Perfector?” photo last month. We had some great guesses, but the winners were the ones who figured out the inventor of Purse Perfector was in New York City at the Met. Well, while in NYC, Lyn did more than just check out the fabulous art the city has to offer. She also stopped in to meet with the folks at OpenSky.
Just in case you’ve never heard of OpenSky, here’s a brief introduction from them about what they do and offer:
Our premise is simple: Because we’re each unique and individual, uniformed stores can’t meet our needs. They don’t inspire and surprise us the way we should be. Shopping should be about discovery. Don’t compromise and settle for the status quo.
On OpenSky, you create your own experience. You decide, based on your personal interests and passions, which people to connect with—we like to call them “curators.” They’re a growing group of tastemakers and experts who are deeply passionate about what they do and what they love. You’ll discover what they discover: the most amazing products and brands you’ve never heard of and the stories (and the brilliant designers and artisans) behind them. You’ll be surprised, delighted, engaged.
OpenSky loves the Purse Perfector and it is considered one of their top sellers (yippee!). Purse Perfector is promoted on OpenSky by both Laura Whittman, the OrgJunkie and Julie Morgenstern. There may soon be another curator at OpenSky to promote Purse Perfector… stay tuned for more!
We’ve talked about this before and we’ll probably talk about it again. The fact is, we can’t hide how proud we are to have all of our Purse Perfectors made right here in America.
You know what, though? Being “Made in America” is more than just about pride, it’s about jobs. Spending even just a small portion of your holiday gifts on Made in America products can have a impact on the growth of jobs within the US.
That’s why we’re thrilled to have made the 2011 ABC Made in America Christmas Gift List. This list provides a great list of products all Made in America. All you have do is click on the links, make a few purchases and your part is done. ABC states:
The average American will spend $704 on holiday gifts and goodies this year, totaling more than $465 billion, the National Retail Federation estimates. If that money was spent entirely on US made products it would create 4.6 million jobs. But it doesn’t even have to be that big. If each of us spent just $64 on American made goods during our holiday shopping, the result would be 200,000 new jobs.
So, the question of the day (or should we say season?) is are you in? We are–100%. Let others know what your favorite Made in America products are by leaving a comment below.
Why should kids get all the goodies on Halloween? This weekend is your chance to treat yourself to a Purse Perfector. Our made-in-the-USA, sturdy nylon purse organizer will give you pleasure and peace of mind for years to come.
And we’re packing up a whole lotta Purse Perfectors to take with us to the Type-A Parent Conference 2011 in beautiful Asheville, NC. As a conference sponsor and attendees, we’re looking forward to meeting lots of fabulous parent bloggers while we’re there. All those busy laptop- and iPhone-toting moms will have the opportunity to organize their purses and bags for work, travel, parenting–anything. We can’t wait to equip them with Purse Perfectors!
Look for our tweets and Facebook updates throughout the conference (we’ll be there Wednesday through Sunday). You can follow along on Twitter with the hashtag #typeacon.
We designed a new Purse Perfector that will fit your French or checkbook wallet horizontally, yet fit your purses as well as the original size.
Now 9″ long!
We’ve added a strip of the durable fabric to either side of the zipper tape so that the zippered center section will be long enough and wide enough to fit your wallet and give you a little more room in the other eight interior and three front exterior pockets.
The back pocket is perfect for:
Credit Cards or
Your Hotel Key Card!
We’re very excited to introduce the new size in the bi-color combinations that have been extremely popular: Black with Berry interior or Black with Silver Sage interior. Still hand-crafted in San Francisco, the new larger size is $64.
Go on – treat yourself or your best friend with the large Purse Perfector and fill the black hole in your handbag with the ultimate organization tool!
